Can anyone advise me how to remove a stuck thermostat? By stuck I don't mean not opening thermally, but physically stuck in it's housing. The top half of the stat has broken off, leaving the lower section in the housing. However it seems as though it is totally welded in place. I've spent an entire day trying to remove it, through delicate methods through to unreasonable force. The lower section is quite mashed up now, the sides seem to flex when forced, but the bottom will not budge. Any advice, other than an exchange engine, would be most welcome!
