Toyota: have you heard of sudden braking as a problem?

Recently, my Toyota Matrix has suddenly braked while I'm driving along the freeway, and it almost glides to a stop. If I stop and wait a while, the car will drive okay. Also, when I use cruise control, the car will suddenly brake on its own.

I've heard of sudden acceleration, but is sudden deceleration yet another Toyota problem?
