I,ve been a land cruiser owner for more than 25 years...So when the word came out that the FJ Cruiser was to hit the lots Was quite exciting...At first I really didn,t like the looks..The only thing cruiser about it was the grill..Then came the Se ma show..I heard that Toyota opened the doors to all the after market vendors so the can come out with options as soon as they hit the show room floor...Great!!!This meant that owners can take their new ride into a local 4x4 shop and add options like bumpers, lift kits and winches...Then Toyota announced that they will have a team out 4 wheeling all the major trails across the country...I first saw them on the rubicon trail...They were well equipped and conquered the trail with no problems...Then I saw team at Moab Utah, same thing no problems at all..So as far as being capable to be a serious 4x4 they did just fine..The Toyota engineers based the Fj on the popular Tacoma...They have been making Tacomas since 1995..So they have the reliabity of the Tacoma...The only problem that owners have is poor visibility...The rear window is a poor design...I have 2 cruisers right now but would like to have an Fj in the garage. So yes they are good cars and yes they are still a true land cruiser!!!
