Toyota Extended Warranty - out of state?

Hi, I have a 2006 Toyota Camry. I am hitting the 3 year mark very soon and would like to purchase an extended warranty. I have some friends who had purchased a extended warranty from a out-of-state Toyota Dealer. It is all suppose to be legit and so on. But I would like confirmation and affirmation that this extended warranty will be honored in my home state CA. Any inputs or advice?
