Toyota ECM defects and other car questions...?
So I'm in this debate with this guy, and he's making these claims about Toyota (he thinks they should be removed from the country along with all their products.) I'm really only arguing that, that idea is a bit extreme. But it's been going on for literally 2 days now and it's escalated to say the least. He seems to be pulling these accusations out of his rear end because I'm googling like crazy and not finding anything about them. He refuses to give me any sort of citation... it's really just getting frustrating.
His latest claim is that Toyota ECM's are all the same in every single Toyota in existence. And since the ECM's are (allegedly) the source of all the problems with unintended acceleration every single make and model of Toyota vehicle is a "ticking time bomb" as he put it.
Is there any weight to that statement at all? All I've been able to find is less than reputable sources who say there's a "Bad batch" of ECM's still out in the market right now. Any and all links or other sources would be appreciated!
