My dealer sent me a letter asking me for taking my Toyota RAV4 in for "drive shaft bolt" service.
What he heck is that?I mean drive shaft bolts suppose to be changed?!Since when?
Toyota technicians please answer me.

This must be from a technical service bulletin they got from the manufacturer. If the part has proved to be troublesome, they might want to make sure yours don't have problems. Either that, or they want to pick up a quick coupla hundred for 10 minutes of work. Look in your owner's manual and see if it is a necessary maintenance proceedure. There are 6 little 10mm nuts on the inner mount that I have never seen come loose without you intentionally loosening them.

There may be a recall. Call the service department and ask if there is a recall and there is, they'll have to fix it for free. If not, They're just trying to lure you in to make money. I've never heard of servicing drive shaft bolts for any reason.
