What is the difference between the two? Which one is better and why?

I know one main difference is that the S has a smaller cylindar than the XRS making the S available in 4 speed automatic whereas the XRS can come in a 5 speed automatic.

I don't know much about cars other than they get you from a to b. I am a big Toyota fan and I especially love Corolla but I was building my own on the website and I didn't know whether I should be asking about an S or an XRS when I go Saturday to the actual dealership.

Thank you much!!

For 2009 the XRS comes with a 2.4 liter and the S comes with a 1.8. The XRS is more powerful 156- or so horses versus the S's 132. If you want the faster car, go with the XRS, if you want fuel economy go with the S. I say, go with the S.
