I woke up one winter morning to go to the store. Usually I wait a few mins for the car to heat up but this time I was in a hurry so I slowly drive instead of wait for it to heat up. When I got to the store I noticed the car was still making some sound when I took the keys out. I noticed it was the same sound when you try to start the car. Except this time on it's own it keeps trying to start itself even with the keys out. I drive home and when I park (take out the keys) the sound seems to slowest go away, and then the car started releasing lots of smoke from under the hood. The car no longer starts and the lights/radio don't turn on either. I figured it was the starter. Can anyone confirm this? And if it is the starter would I need to replace the entire thing or something that is part of it? Any other part that may cause this to happen? Does anyone think that my battery may also be dead? Any more information about how it works or how to remove it would be appreciated.
