toyota celica water in engine?

I got stuck in water...the car starts but shakes a lot and there's a loud ticking coming from the alternator area. The shop says there's no compression in one of the cylinders. They want to overhaul the whole engine.

Any ideas?
So what would be the best fix for it?

To rebuild the engine?
