My Celica VVTi ( 140bhp year 2000 ), crunches whilst down-shifting from 5th gear to 4th gear. Any other gear change / shift combination is fine, it's only as you go from 5th into 4th, it crunches badly. Am I correct in thinking it's likely to be the synchro ?
