Hello,

I was hoping someone might be able to help.
What is the 60-0 stopping distance for a 1996 Gen6 Toyota Celica?

Thanks
Braking along a level stretch of road on a clear dry morning with good condition brakes and tyres. Assume no additional weight on the car apart from the driver himself (10.13 stone).

Exclude calculations for drivers reaction times.
(Just for the sake of it)

My average reaction speed measured using:

whilst looking slightly away from the screen was 0.12 seconds

On a dry, level road, and with good tyres correctly inflated, and good brake pads and discs, not very far.

Going down a steep hill on ice, with flat, bald tyres, and brake pads worn down to the metal, quite a long way.

It also depends on the driver's reaction time, how hard he presses the pedal, whether the wheels lock up or not.......

In other words, it is impossible to give an accurate answer.
