Ok I have a 99 toyota camry.
When I was driving it down the road it wouldnt auto shift. So I took my foot off the gas and then put it back on. It was fine then. After like 2 or 3 miles it did the same thing then I heard a loud bang and the car shut down. When we got a tow truck to take it back to my house we took a look at it. We thought it was the starter. When we tried to start the car it had a loud grinding sound and didnt start. We got a new starter and tried it again. The same thing happened. So we took the oil and there was none on the check stick. When the car shutdown thee was no oil lights on. When i got underneath I popped the cap and drained the oil. About 2 Qts came out. When I put a new filter on and put new oil in it and started the car I heard a loud thump and no grinding so can someone please help.
