I have a 1996 camry with about 98k miles on it thanks to a new engine, and almost everything I have replaced at one time within the 4 years I've had it....I mean literally, you name it; radiator, water pump, cv boots, tires, all belts including the timing belt, thermostat, starter well you get the point....and jokingly of course, I was saying the last thing it needs is a transmission and I could sell it for 2k more than I bought it for and of course it goes out one day after I said that while replacing by outer boot the only thing is, I don't know much about transmissions at all as they are pretty complex and well, when I shift it, it kinda makes a really loud noise like pulling up the e-brake and then rumbles as if it's falling out...so what do you think is wrong with it, best and worst scenarios and how do you think I should go about fixing it....I could get a great deal on a used tranny from a friend of mine but then again I could always fix it myself if it isn't too bad........ideas from experts?
