I have a 1995 camry with 230,000 miles on it.
When I step on the brake and put the car into drive there is a short delay and then a thump when it finaly goes into gear. If I let my foot off the brake for a second or two then begin accelerating very slowly it doesn't thump.
It also thumps into gear when I stop at a light and then accelerate.
It happens in reverse too.
This problem started several thousand miles ago and seems to be getting slightly worse.
Does anybody have any idea what the problem is or how much it will cost to get fixed?
