So heres my story,i bought this car 2 years ago from a friend for 600 dollars,it was a good deal since he was selling the car and just wanted to get rid of this one,about 7 months later the car died while i was driving,took it to the shop and paid 700 dollars for timing belt,water pump and a few other things "needed"to be fixed,now again 7 months later the car died again while driving,my friend took a look at it and said it was the timing belt,i called the shop where i fixed it and they said they will cover it if it wast their fault,i took it there spent 70 bucks on towing,and now they say its the oil pump and that its gonna be 7mm dollars,again! the car has high mileage and i decided its not worth wasting more money on it, my question is can the oil pump have ANYTHING to do with the car not starting or they are just trying to rip me off? and is it worth keep trying to fix this car?
