...inscribed? I have to provide the engine number of my wife's 2001 Toyota Camry. The side of the engine block where its inscribed is black with grease and i'm in no mood to get under the hood. Is this engine number inscribed anywhere on the Body of the car? Also, the same detail for a Nissan Maxima 2004
 
check on the fire wall if not open the drive side door and check the door post same for the maxmia
 
NO. GET DEGREASER AND LEAVE ON FOR 15 MINUTES AND THEN WASH OFF AND LOOK. IT SHOULD, THOUGH BE FOUND BY LOOKING AT VIN.
