my 02 Rav4 4 check engine light turned on after removing the air filter and forgetting to reinstall it before running the car. i reinstalled it after washing it but the light wont go away. i removed the battery connectors to restart the car but after 30 minutes of driving the light came back on. i removed the air filter and replaced it with a new one and restarted the car, after another 30 min or so, the light came back on. whats wrong with it? could it be the Mass Air Flow sensor? if so is their a way to clean it? and if that's not the problem then how do i troubleshoot it with out bringing it to a dealer?
