i lived in a house that had black mold and my cellar was very wet. i have been very sick all the time i was there i have moved in the past couple of weeks to a mold free home. im so ill my whole life as been turned upside down and i cant function properly. i struggle to visit the doctors due to anxiety about the build up of mucus in my throat at times im terrified. i cant swallow any food and struggle to get drinks down as well i do need some reassurance that i will get better.

Yes, your health should improve now that you are out of the home.

HOWEVER, it's very important that the belongings you brought with you are cleaned properly. Anything that can go through a washing machine should, on "HOT" if feasible. Any hard surfaces should be wiped down. Some items you might have to throw away, but get advice from a mold expert before you do that.

Do see a doctor, there may be ways to help you recover faster.

YOU WILL GET BETTER!!! Mold can raise the dickens with people and I speak from experience. I was playing carRAB at this club I belong to and within one minute of being near something that had mold, my lungs filled up, my eyes went nuts, I couldn't think, had trouble breathing and thinking!! It is HORRIBLE stuff!!!! Are you in the hanRAB of a good allergist? If not, I would try to find one. Your general dr. should be able to help you with a booster shot - something that is given VERY rarely, but it will get you going again. Good luck and keep me posted.

thankyou for your reassurance i have seen the doctor today he is now refering me to e.n.t. and started me on some antibiotics. me and my partner are currently sorting out the stuff that i brought to my new home. washing all clothes etc throwing stuff away. i will keep you informed and thanks again

I am sorry to hear about your illness. We lived in a home that had mold in it and got very, very sick. I am glad you left. Hopefully you were not borabarded with the mold for a long time and your symptoms will clear up. My family (of six) developed Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Chronic Fatigue, severe headaches extreme anxiety, depression, neurological issues etc. We have been to many medical specialist in the area of mold and the developing symptoms. If you would like me to answer any additional questions you may have please PM me. Anxiety can be caused by the mycotoxins that came from the mold. You may recover quickly or it may take awhile....you are out of the house and that is what is the first step to get you healthy.

yes whilst i was living in the house that had the mold i suffered from episodes of major depression and hyperactivity i have an anxiety disorder in the first place but noticed it increased dramatically. im still no better at moment and im still struggling to eat and drink. it does look like its going to take time for me to improve. i have seen the doctor and have been referred for tests now i will be having ct scan on wednesday. i had also a short spell in hospital and had an endoscopy etc and will be seeing E.N.T in october.
