Towing capacity on my car help...?

Well, I have a 2003 Pontiac Bonneville and am moving half way across country. My budget is a little tight right now, so i would like to tow a U-Haul trailer. For those that are more knowledgeable with cars, will my car make it towing my things?
Also: I'll be carrying around <2500lbs and my engine is a V6 and have hook ups for a hitch...I just don't want to break my car if it's not going to make it. Thanks for your help!
 
The car is only rated to tow about 1000lbs. 2500lbs will probably do a significant amount of damage. The vehicle is not equipped to tow that much. It doesnt have the braking system to handle a trailer that heavy.

It is a unibody car aswell, so you may damage the body by towing too much.
 
this article i found says the towing capacity on your vehicle is only 1000 lbs

i dont think youll make it
