Is there a safety factor built in by the manufactures when determining towing capacity of a vehicle? I have a 2002 Ford Ranger 4 x 2 with a towing capacity I believe to be around 3780 lbs. is this truly the maximum capacity or is the vehicle capable of more but for safety reasons they won't publish its true capabilities.
