Touring guy rents a Fatboy by accident

ive always said if i can ever afford to get a second bike it will be a fatboy. now i love my street glide like crazy but i have not found a bike that rides an takes bumps like the 04 custom fatty i traded. they are just a nice bike.

I love my fatboy. I have not yet graduated to a touring rig. One day, but not until I can keep my fatboy as I love it. Touring bikes always feel extremely tall and top heavy to me when I get on them as I am not sued to them. The bottom line is having the right bike for the job at hand is great. But I have never felt I have needed any more than I have on long trips either. Like I said, one day, one day...

I had a fatboy when they were the bike everyone wanted. They were bought by the thousands by folks who had never ridden in their lives, and re-sold as low mileage used bikes almost as fast. For awhile, there were so many of them on the used market that they were practically giving them away. Good bike, pretty easy to ride, but they just miss the mark for me.

I like the versatility of a touring bike. I'd get another softail, but the next one will be a pure bar hopper. Maybe a deuce with a fat tire conversion and a big motor.

I had a Deuce before I got my Street Glide. It was a great bike. I wish they still made it. It was a great bike to get around. If I could afford 2 bikes I would have kept it.

you're gonna get another bike? the one in your sig pic looks like its pretty well set up for touring. Never seen a bike with the set up like you got with the tour pack sitting over the passenger seat, but looks like with a few mods you could make yours a good 2 up touring bike. After a few trips on that fatboy you will understand why the fatboy is more of a bar hopper and your's is called a touring bike. Just NHO. get the wife on the one you got before spending the dough on another one.

I should explain. I bought the FB because I loved the looks of the bike. After I got it I realized that not having a place to put a screw driver let alone anything else was a huge hassle. The bike rode decent I thought till I rode a friends Road Glide. That was wear the problems began. I just liked the fact that the RKC has much more room. Its like a Volkswagon or a Caddy. If I was just by myself the FB was ok, however with two of us it was cramped without a back rest. I wanted to ad so many things it was way cheaper to buy a NEW bike. I hope this make more sense.
