Touring guy rents a Fatboy by accident

On vacation in Waikiki and went to rent some scooters for wife and I to do some shopping. After some drama, they offered to let me rent a HD Fatboy for the same price with insurance, gas, and mileage free. Can't get any better than that. I have been bugging my wife to ride with me, but she never gave in until yesterday. Maybe because we are on vacation, who knows. Anyways, I must say I don't care for the look of the Fatboy, never did. Actually thought is was fugly! I still do, but man, that was the best ride I've had since purchasing a HD. It was very easy to control, especially being my first time riding two up. It had a 2-1 thunderheader so it sounded just right. Just an overall great ride. Not only was the ride great, but having my wife ride with me was the best and hopefully she will want to ride with me from now on, only on this.................

Might be looking at getting a second bike now!

I had a FB eight yrs loved that bike. It's was great for short hops and very easy to maneuver. Started doing longer trips so went touring route. If I could've kept two I would've.

The softtails sure are more agile than the touring bikes, but the ride definitely sucks in comparison. My Deuce was very easy to get around mostly because of the weight, but I'm getting used to the King.

I would get a decent seat before you let her ride. Riding on the tour pack rack will make her never want to ride again.

Hmmm for me having owned 3 Sporters,2 Heritages,2 Roadkings and an Ultra..... I went back to the Heritage! Can you believe it.. Best riding bike for highway alone was the Ultra.. Best riding bike for general travel and limited highway was/is the Heritage.. The Road King fills a few voids in between.... Just my opnion..

Own a bunch of Harley's, one of my favorites was my 93 FLSTN..my Cow Glide...easy to move around, city or highway...had some of the Fat Boy and some of a Heritage...cool ride, I would like to have a Heritage again.

My wife has a 2008 Fatboy, loaded with chrome, pipes etc...... I gotta say I'd think hard about going that route next time around..... it didn't vibrate like my FLH's did/do, seems to fit a tall guy pretty well to boot.......

I bought my first bike last fall it was a FB. I loved the bike but felt it was just to small. Now that I got my RKC I LOVE IT!!!!!!

Yep, I agree. I tried a FB prior to purchasing my 10 RK. Smooth as silk
- but by the time you get good bags on it and a windshield etc. I would've been more expensive than the RK.

While the FB has a good ride - I do not think it rides as well as the touring bikes. JMO

I had a Fatboy for many years before moving up to a touring bike. Loved the Fatboy while I had it, but love my Street Glide that I have now even more.
