Totally off topic, but why do Brits sound American when they sing--anyone know?

OMG what anger this stupid ass question brings! whoever said Americans sound British when they sing needs a hearing test and Brits DO sound American when they sing. Its not some horrible affliction, just is the way it is. Anyone care to actually answer the question? lol sheesh
