Toshiba DVD-Rom isn't working, any suggestions?

I have a Toshiba DVD-Rom (SD-M1212) that isnt working on my computer. Its listed iny my Device Manager but when I try to play DVD's it won't read any of them. Running Windows XP btw. Any suggestions would help.
