I live in new zealand (where the amount of data we get a month is capped for internet useage) now we were using more than we thought and reaching our cap way too quickly so I took a look at everything we did with our computers and found that when we torrent a file that is say 1gb, it will use 10gb of internet. It is the same with a file of any size it uses up about 10* the file size of download. Does anyone know why this is happening and if there is any way of stopping it? as I would have thought that downloading a 1gb file would use 1gb of internet useage. Also will the same thing happen with downloads via my web browser?
