I'm buying a 2001 pontiac grand am with a 2.4 liter 4cylinder engine, it's a friends and i'm getting it for cheap. the check engine light is on so i took it to auto zone and they said the torque converter is bad, how much should i pay for the car when it needs it replaced, has a cracked windshield, and needs a new tie rod? also where can i get a good torque converter for cheap? also i noticed the RPM's run really high, also it sucks gas as well,she just had a tyranny flush done and they said theirs nothing wrong with the tyranny is it because of the torque converter?
