Find a really nice painter. I dont think the bags would break just mess up the paint. The old style bag we make you can put the crome cage around the bag, but the new style it hits on the side of the body line.

how many coats you going to put on them. I put about 16-20oz of clear on a set when i paint them. then wet sand them out 1200-1500-2000. but show parts get 4 coats then block out with 400. Then 2 more thin coats then wet sand with 2000.

From what I saw when I picked mine up yesterday, the paint job that Top Shop did looks alot better than the moco's.

I got the saddlebag rails like you have and it all fits fine. But I'm not going to lay it down for you just to see if they proctect these new bags. LOL

Ya, I have used the 2021 a lot and really like it. I use an HVLP gun and get very good coverage with little material waste. I usually shoot 2 to 3 coats of clear then sand with 1500 & 2000. It mirrors out real nice.

Here's a couple picture because I changed out the pipes, so they would match the bags better.





These are called 3 1/2" pipes and I had mistaking told Top Shop I had 3 1/4" pipes .
But there is plenty of room.

Pipes look good. Fuelmoto set up? anyways I thinking about modifing my saddlebag guards to come down lower to protect the bags. When I'm done I'll let you know. Need to cut them and add material and then re-chrome of powdercoat them
