Top Shop New Style Bags

Total cost - $300 painted! Same dude painted my HogPod for $30 and inner fairing for $70.

Things to consider if trying to get bags to line up with FLHX fasci...the side fascia is set forward...also measuring drop length from the bag angle as opposed to the bottom of the bag. TS Gen II bags are cool but if sticking with FLHX fascia I'd want 'em to line up therefore precise bag length is critical! Seems a lot of FLHX owners wanting stretched bags want to keep the stock fender/tri-lite. At least we agree that stock bags suck!

I just picked up this denim demo an hour ago and it's screamin' for stretched bags! WTF doesn't HD have the mufflers parallel to the bag bottoms...is that asking too much?

I've been playing with the bags a bit more today. Here is the bags the way they sit right now. I have to tell you that this is pretty damn close. The main culprit that made it look so bad before was the angle of the camera, I was looking down at an angle while some of the other pictures were looking directly at the rear.

Here is my bike looking directly at the rear. My bags are 3.5" and they are so close to lining up that I don't see the big deal, the 3" bag would likely line up perfectly for someone looking to keep the stock fender.

If it wasn't perfect I think that it would be so close that nobody would notice unless you pointed it out. Mine is an 09 so I have a slightly longer fender and fascia than earlier models I think, which is maybe why mine lines up better??

PS...Skydoc....that's a hot bike. I dig Denim black..I wish it was available when I bought my 09.

Like I said earlier the bags are about perfect on the 2009-2010 with the bigger and wider fender. I need to ditch the 2007 fender!

Skydoc, Your right we all hate the stock bags, We are ALL on the forum to see and learn what others are doing to get the "look" they want for their bike. Some thing we like others we don't. everybody has different taste. What one likes I may not. That 2010 is in need of some killer mods.

Yep...if I were planning on keeping the stock fender it would be a snap, about 10 minutes worth of work and those bags would line up PERFECTLY on an 09 or 2010 model.

Okay that will be close enough for me (I think). Nothing is going to be perfect, unless I was a fabricator (and I'm not) and I was also going to do the fender (which I'm not planning on).

That is really lookin' good even for me. Damn what do I do now? LOL

What exactly are you doing with adjustments, as you say?

Today all I did was monkey with the slip ons...moved them further back towards the rear and adjusted the gap around the cutout.

If I wanted to I could take a dremel and slightly oblong the pin holes to move the bags up 1/4 inch and they would literally be perfect.

MOST of the gap before was I was not taking the pictures from straight behind the bike but rather looking down at it.

If that doesn't work...then not much will.
