Top Dvd Releases Of 2006

Since I started buying dvd's early in 1998 the novelty of the format slowly wore off.
What was a revolution after VHS and even LD had started to become mundane.
However this year has seen some releases that really got me excited for their delivery.
So I thought that others might have some dvd's to mention that we have may missed.
Not just your average movie release but something special.
My Top 3 are:

The James Bond Ultimate Editions Attache Case (R2)

Forbidden Planet Collectors Tin (R1)

Superman 14 disc Collectors Tin (R1).

Whats yours?
 
I'm confused by that one. In the UK I've seen 3 different new sets available for pre-order. The first is the 'Christopher Reeves collection', the second is on HMV and Play- a 13 disc Limited Edition set, and the third is the R1 14 disc set.
 
The Chris Reeves Collection is the discs comprising just his 4 movies.
The Ultimate Collectors edition has 2 discs of Superman Returns aswell as additional extras making 13 discs.
Exclusive to R1 is a 14th disc devoted entirely to the production of Superman Returns.
Not an essential extra but as the R1 still sells for at least
 
Maybe I'll get this one. Pity they couldn't add Supergirl to the line-up, it's only just been released on DVD anyway.
 
I thought that film was dreadful.
I see R1 re-release is on the way.
The original R1 was a double discer with an extended directors cut.
I have not checked the R2---is that the extended version?
 
Long time since I saw it last, but spending the entire movie fighting over a gardener!!??

Anyway, back on topic- do you mean DVRAB released over Christmas or 2006 in general?
 
2006 in general.

There have been some superb releases this year.

The R1 Alias Rambaldi Boxset (as opposed to the R2 ripoff) and the R4 Charmed set are also up there.
