Toon Zone Talkback - VIZ Announces DVD Releases for April 2009: Hunter X Hunter Vol. 2, Naruto Vol. 13

Im kinda hopping the 1st shippuden comes out before or During the same month as the last Naruto box. I mean I don't know how much longer I can wait!

I know what you mean. I still wish that they would have Johto box sets instead of these All-Stars DVRAB. I know that they're going to finish up the Diamond and Pearl box sets in March, but it would be nice to see if they would continue on with some of the older season sets in the near future.

They'll probably get the Johto boxes complete but what I would like are better releases of the films. I mean who wouldn't want the other films to be similar to Movies 9-11 with the widescreen format? Maybe the Pokemon series could go HD DVD soon.

I don't really see the advantage of a widescreen format, but a re-release of the earlier films would be kind of cool. Though I also think that any kind of release like that would be a few years from now. As for the series going to HD DVD, I doubt that. The target age group of Pokemon most likely wouldn't really care about the quality of an HD DVD since they just want to see Pokemon. It's an interesting idea though.

yeah maybe. The last single volume for the last set came out in may and then box set 2 came out in augest. So maybe it's two months after the last volume of the set.

Yeah, the films were all created in widescreen. But unfortunately, the first eight movies have only (in the US) been released in fullscreen.

Hopefully we'll get HD rereleases of the movies in the future... I hear the widescreen version of the eighth movie is fantastic.

I've heard tell that the 3rd movie was released onto iTunes and is actually widescreen now. I haven't had a chance to check for myself, but if it's so, there may be hope yet for the rest.

Say, has anyone watched the HXH set yet? I'm curious as to how the dub worked out.

Hisoka, Killua, and Leorio are all great. Gon is one that will grow on you for the first few episodes (I was fine with him after the first two, actually), but Kurapika is just a tad grating. Although I'm sure that's probably intentional--he's got this air around him that makes him seem like he knows he's more moral than you.
