Really great reference for an enjoyable show. Still a real shame it got canned because all licensing partners care about is movie stuff :(

No, this is a review for a guidebook that covers the show's final season and what plans there were before it's last minute cancellation.

I don't expect more Animated in any way, shape, or form: I don't even think it's remotely realistic to expect it. Doesn't mean I'll ever give up the hope or desire for more, though!

Now, does anyone know any good lottery number-picking techniques? :-P

(Great review, by the way.)

I only recently got in Transformers Animated because of a friend's pruding (and Prowl, good god, do I fangirl to Prowl, hence the icon), so I've been grabbing up merchandises of that durn show (Hasbro owns my sooooooulllll).

I recently picked out the second Allspark Alamanc (only because the first isn't available in a lot of online stores, though I did find one on Borders.com and am currently awaiting for that one to arrive at my doors) and I am blown away by it. I love art/behind-the-scene stuff. I thrive off of it. I am amazed at the content they added in the book. A two-page spread detailing Rodimus Prime's bio and character spread? He appeared, what, only a grand total of five minutes in the show? Profiles of characters that never made it into the show, but was added in the book to expand on the world? Amazing. I don't think I ever saw Botanica, but they put her in there and gave her two whole paragraphs! As well as detailed, head to toe shots of many of the characters, important items, vehicles, etc. that will keep my hands busy trying to draw them all, this is ridiculously chock full of goodies that I am crying in happy tears. I'm very pleased on how thorough the book is and the only thing I regret is that I didn't get into this show sooner.

Completely agreed on the meager section for Season Four, Hellcat. I really wished they went into deeper details (I am disappointed "Allspark-calyspe Now" will never be made because the potential idea of Prowl possessing Wreck-Gar - one of the 'bots powered by an Allspark fragment - would have been hilarious and awesome). I desperately cross my fingers for a comic continuation and this is coming from someone who doesn't have high expectations on anything.

I'm pretty much the same. Enjoyed the show but for most of its run I was unemployed. When I finally landed a job, most stores were selling the line off to make room for the movie toys. My first actual Animated toy was the purple Shockwave Conekiller kindly purchased me and from there I bought Waspinator, Samurai Prowl and Blurr, intending that to be it....I now have near all the characters

Alot of the new characters, including Botanica, came from an April Fools piece Wyatt drew for his blog. He was, and still is, very enthused about working on the show and loved to toss out 'If we ever got to use this character, here's how they'd look' art. Likewise, Scalpel is some fan art he initially did after seeing Revenge of the Fallen.

If nothing else, I hope the crew are willing to answer these questions in an interview at some point. With the fandom being organized via things like Botcon now a days, it wouldn't be so hard to get the relavent people to sit down and explain. Hopefully sooner rather than later. I've seen interviews with the writers who worked on the original show and by this point they have barely any answers because they remember so little about it.

Geez, Animated really does seem to be the Spectacular Spider Man of Transformers. They clearly had a lot of ideas left. The book sounds cool. My response to this was to finally get the first two seasons of the show in my Netflix queue.

They were going to upgrade Optimus and Megatron? I'm shocked! Well, not that shocked. :)

At least this show didn't get canned in favour of creating a series that would birth Transformers Energon/Superlink. I really would've liked Transtech. :(

Transtech was scape in favor of Robots in Disguise/ Car Robots.

Let not forget the fans had some one hate mail and death threats, because of the Beast Machine, he decided not to work with Transformers.

Car Robots was only brought over because production on Armada was taking too long. It wasn't originally meant to leave Japan.

According to TF Wiki, Transtech was dropped for two reasons:

1. Beast Machines didn't do nearly as well as Beast Wars, hence killing off the idea of giving it another sequel and the idea of yet another series taking Transformers in a radically different visual style.

2. Hasbro (along with near everyone) majorly over estimated the demand for Phantom Menace merchandise and took quite a hit on unsold toys. Hence why they decided to import Takara's Car Robots whilst both parties made plans for Armada/Micron Legend.
