Terrific interview by GWOtaku in conjunction with the Blu-ray re-release of The Last Unicorn. I know I'm grabbing my copy ASAP tomorrow.

A marvelous interview with a lovely gentleman. I was especially struck by his discussion of the "bad language" thing, where he is so generous and warm-spirited when he could have been much more angry.

Yes, DAMN it! The last release was tarnished by stupid weedy parents and a whiny chain store, but this is how it should have been done. Dual tracks, a choice for both parties.

Finally, I can throw out my VHS.

Nice interview!...I just got the Blu-Ray combo pack, and I think the movie looks and sounds great (and am especially happy that the Blu-Ray gives the option to play the uncensored version...it's always bugged me that the 25th Anniversary edition edited out the swearing...I dunno,I just feel that Molly's rant against the Unicorn loses some of the impact without her saying "Damn you!,where have you been?")....I haven't gotten around to watching the special features,though...

If they actually do get around to making a comic book adaption for "A Fine and Private Place",I'll definitely get it...I love that book....The comic book series for The Last Unicorn was nicely done (I have all the comics except #1,and I just got the graphic novel last week),I love the character designs, and it was interesting to see parts of the original book that never made it into the animated film...

I remember "The Last Unicorn"- it was one of Rankin-Bass' best movies in the early 1980's, especially with the film's soundtrack, recorded by America. If I get a chance to, I'd buy the movie- it's a good movie, and I do recall when it aired on Cartoon Network.
