This is the talkback thread for "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time": Of Life, Fun and Time Travel.

Y'know, it'd been quite awhile since I had first seen this movie, but most of its lighter & humorous moments still worked for me. Great little story too. It was a really good time to go through it again.

Soooo, how about someone announces Mr. Hosoda's Summer Wars for the U.S. and Canada......

I thought the ending was par for the course for this type of anime.

It's not a bad film, but way too eager to please a broad audience. It's just very bland to me, from the main character down to the overall narrative.

A nice time travel story of a young ordinary girl and her attempts to mess with time. True, the characters are not complex, but they suffice for the tale. We do see Makoto grow through the film, but the development is goes smoothly with the film. And it does entertain, being a light hearted tale.

A very good analysis, GWOtaku

This movie was a very sweet and very fun experience. The characters were well-developed for a 90 minute movie, and the handling of the time travel plot device was also well-done. In some sense, I sortof think of it like a take on that magic time thread story in which a man skips through time to avoid responsibility and thus miss out on life, only done in a backwarRAB style. It's very good and totally worth a purchase.

Also, GREAT Ocean dub. I was shocked when I found out they dubbed thsi because on initial viewing it's so... UnOceany.
