This is the talkback thread for Studio Ghibli's Next Project to Be From New Director.

This is good to hear. Nothing against Miyazaki or Takahata, but new blood (and thus, different styles of storytelling) is always good.
 
Yeah, this pretty much has to happen. Miyazaki is amazing but he's getting older, and it'll be very good for animation lovers everywhere if Ghibli is able to prosper beyond his career. Good to see Miyazaki is also working on another project, though.
 
Yeah, it's always good to see some new blood - and it's nice to have something filling the half-decade gaps between Miyazaki movies. Maybe we'll see another Ghibli great get his start.
 
I remeraber a report from years back that Ghibli was working on a film with a foreign director. Whatever happened with that?
