Toon Zone Talkback - "South Park" Sued for Copyright Infringement

I got to question, what was with the upswing of this news? I mean if I read the article right, the guy that did the song "What What (In The Butt)" was happy about it being parody and sent them an e-mail later. Maybe my memory is kind of fuzzy, since it has been a while since I saw Canada on Strike, but wasn't the melody of the song about the same of the original viral video, along with doing several things shot for shot? I think I'm going to watch that episode again to make sure.
 
This is like that rash of Family Guy lawsuits that were filed years and years after their respective episodes first aired.

Isn't the time to file a lawsuit like this right after an episode comes out? The fact that the episode in question happened two seasons ago won't help their case.
 
I think the guy's only suing because the college humor ripoff was in the news recently.

If the What What guy was really that angry with Comedy Central, why did he go on Tosh.0?
 
The guy that made What What in the Butt was happy they used it and sent them a thank you letter for it.

...Yeah he's not gonna win this. Dick move, too.
 
This will get thrown out quickly.

It was a one minute gag at best. And it was a gag.

This will be thrown out quicker than when Club Met sued Fox over the movie title Club Dread.
 
I feel those could be two different things. He might be unhappy over the parody on South Park, but on the other hand going on Tosh.0 would be free publicity for him and the video.

It's interesting. I was just thinking about that South Park episode recently, and the song. And all this time I thought it was original on the show (am I a fool for thinking it wasn't a parody of something?).
