Toon Zone Talkback - Seth Green Speaks About New Star Wars Series

The fact that it's a comedy worries me:

#1: is this going to be an "adult" series?
#2: is this just going to be a parody of George Lucas' creation
#3: what does Lucas and/or his compny Lucasfim have to say about this?

Normally, any Star Wars TV series would be part of the canon since it's not an unauthorized novel, putting Lucasfilm in more of a position to give them their stamp of approval (and I don't want to debate the canon issue; that's for a completely different topic altogether), but this may or may not be an exception.

Don't get me wrong. The movies (and prior TV projects) have always incorporated comedy into the package as a whole (i.e., I wouldn't it to be too serious, either), but the fact that this show will purely be a comedy already makes it a liability. Long story short, let me just say that I wouldn't want to be Seth Green when and if he finds himself on the receiving end of all of the venom that the fans may already be aiming at him for this...
 
A comedy series set in the Star Wars universe that has nothing to do with the wars? Sounds promising. I just hope Seth doesn't Robot Chicken it too much; by that I mean fill it with a bunch of mean-spirited, unnecessarily dark, scatological frat boy/stoner style jokes. Speaking of RC...

Is this series going to be an anthology like Robot Chicken, or will it have a fixed cast and setting?
 
Considering Lucasfilm's involvement and the knowledge of Lucas' feelings on the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special, I'm sure they will keep a close eye on this project in terms of possible material that would be seen as inappropriate and franchise-tarnishing. The fact they're letting Green make the series in the first place obviously means there's something they like about him doing it.
 
I'm looking forward to this precisely because Seth Green will be restraining his usual sense of humor to fit with Star Wars' family-friendly demographic. In other words, it will (hopefully) keep the wit and charm of his humor without the vulgar stuff. It's exactly like how many people think that Lucas' directing/writing was at it's best when restrained by other people.

What I'm wondering is how many Original Trilogy characters will be appearing, or how many new characters will be created for this. They confirmed that the Galactic Civil War would be a distant backdrop, so I can't see Luke/Han/Leia/etc. showing up in anything other than special cameo roles.
 
I swore an earlier report said that it actually would be about the OT characters? :confused: That's what got my interest peaked in this in the first place, but if it's not about them it'll be interesting to see what they do. But I swore it was going to be set around them.
 
This, and I'm really hoping it won't have as much wasted potential as Titan Maximum.

Which, now that I say that, makes me hope this gets half hour long episodes so the plot can actually have breathing room.
