Toon Zone Talkback - "Sam & Max: Freelance Police" coming to DVD

Sam & Max: Freelance Police didn't stand a chance on Fox Kids. The jokes came flying too fast and the writing was too clever for Saturday morning. Sam & Max should have aired on [adult swim], but of course, that didn't exist at the time.

I only taped a couple of the episodes during the brief time the show was on TV. The series was canceled before I could tape all of the episodes. Also, I don't know where the tape is now. Whenever the Sam & Max DVD comes out, I'm going to buy it!

I do like how TVShowsonDVD mentions that the set was confirmed on the official Shout forums, but it was confirmed a full two weeks earlier by B Ward on a Captain N message board.

(Edit: Oh wait, I just realized that YoshiAngemon mentioned it to him on the Shout board, and he had seen the Captain N board before.)

Anyways, Shout has done it again with their great releases of old cult classics. And, since they've teamed up with Nelvana, they should REALLY go after Eek the Cat next.

But you can't watch Gametap in DVD quality, now can you? :P

Funny how this story got around. YoshiAngemon heard it on the ShoutFactory forum. I heard it here, from YoshiAngemon. I posted about it at telltalegames.com (the site of the company that makes the games). They posted a Myspace bulletin about it. TVshowsonDVD picked up the story from them, most likely, using the ShoutFactory forum post as a source. And now icv2.com is using TVshowsonDVD as a source, and Toon Zone is reporting on it.

It's the circle of life... and it moves us all...

Actually YoshiAngemon originally got it from a Captain N message board, where I had asked a Shout rep about Sam and Max, and the rep had said they got the license. Then he went to the Shout forum to confirm if it was true.

So, basically, I started this entire chain. :D

I never seen Sam and Max, but I support the reelase of any cult Animation.

But my life won't be complete until Shout! or somebody else licenses Mr. Bogus.

I saw two episodes of the show and they were pretty good. Shame how poorly it was treated on Fox Kids though. I mean besies inital previews it was only promoted for a "villians team up" marathon FOX Kids had at the end of 1998 Fox Kids year (may season wise anyway). I may actually get this when it comes to DVD since Shout does do pretty good DVD releases.

This is good news

now only if we could get a massive "end of universe" compilation of all the Sam and Max comics

I definetly want the DVD, and shall purchase it the day it comes out
