No one has seen this or made a talkback about this yet?

I saw it on the day it came out, though I didn't want to.

At first the animation seems very...sloppy and sketchy but, becomes seems to become smoother as the film goes on.

As for the plot, it really doesn't seem like it can be made into a 90 minture film, seeing that the only objective is to get the astronaut back to his ship. The movie does not run out of mildly entertaining jokes, though they seem to go overboard with a few sexual jokes that aren't really approppiate for the age it is aimed at.

I enjoyed it and would give it an overall 8/10.

As for all the bashing it has been getting on these boards and the in review by Maxie, THIS MOVIE DOES NOT DESERVE IT! This movie is definetly underated and on par with anything Pixar and Dreamworks have to offer.

Response seems to echo my thoughts when I saw the trailers. The role reversal is a fun idea, but kind of pointless when it's nothing but visual. The aliens just being funny-looking humans in a perfectly human world sounds like a huge waste of possibilities.

Well then see the movie without a bias before you choose that opinion...

People really need to stop talking out of their hat...

Visually, it's very smooth and well done, as I said in my review. I think it looks much better than "Monsters vs. Aliens" or "Bee Movie," and it wouldn't disgrace the Pixar logo.

But it's boring and predictable. I wasn't a huge fan of Cars, but if you really liked that movie, you'd probably like this one.

Saw it today. I thought it was pretty good entertainment. Yes, it was predictable. Animation quality was good enough as not to be a distraction. Character designs were warm and personalities identifiable, although I thought Chuck Baker's arrogant personality could have been toned down a bit. Humor factor was average.
I was surprised to see that the film was produced in Spain. I had never heard of Ilion Animation Studios until today. Quality looks promising. I would give the film a 7/10.

THANX

Ditto about the animation part. It's nice to see some up and coming talent that is actually better then Dreamworks (I think that Tinseltown Toons is close to there too. Though Bionicle: The Legend Reborn was flawed in quite a few aspects *Although there aren't that many well known name celebrities, there are a few recgonizable actors nevertheless. The Story was way underdeveloped and Tuma, aside from having the worst voice in any film, show or game (Though the Twins from RoTF, Kiina, Peter Griffin and quite possibly some others, though I have no clue as to who just yet) was also the worst villain in any of the four films. Though there were some good things about it nevertheless)

Wait, since when do I ramble on with off topicness? Either way though, Planet 51 does seem interesting.

Like Maxie, I really liked the smooth, solid CGI animation in the film. Visually, it wouldn't look out of place in a Pixar or Dreamworks movie.

The story and writing, however, leaves a lot to be desired. It seems like they just mashed a bunch of semi-funny jokes together, put boring conversations between them, put a plot behind them, and stretched it out to 90-minutes.

None of the characters were likeable, really, with the slight exception of that cute WALL-E clone (forgot the name) that has the most personality out of all the characters in the film.

I did chuckle a bit from time to time. But for the most part, Planet 51 just isn't my cup of tea.
