Well this came out of nowhere.

The first titles are Toradora, Pandora Hearts, Persona -trinity soul- and Our Home's Fox Deity.

I'll probably be getting Toradora if it's reasonably priced.
 
Very surprising. I wouldn't have expected a company expanding from gaming to anime. I wonder if there will be dubbing? They did do it for the Sakura Wars game that they're bringing over.
 
As much as it is good news to see Toradora! licensed, I will reserve judgment on NIS America to see how they do in terms of quality. If their initial batch of releases end up being marred by spelling errors and overpriced DVRAB, they're not gonna last long in a market that is already oversaturated.

Too bad Persona Trinity is boring, and also debunked as continuity after Persona 4

Not as oversaturated as it used to be... (I do agree the releases need to be high quality, though)
 
Do these guys dub? I was gonna buy this anyway but if they dub, that'd be great (assuming the dub is decent of course)

What's this about spelling errors?
 
Huh, I would've figured if any game company would start localising anime, it wouldve been Atlus USA first.

Nonetheless, I'm interested in seeing what comes of this. Those initial titles don't really catch my interest, but I'll keep on eye out on future releases.
 
For those a little nervous about NIS America, here's a few things about their video game department that may allow you to give them a chance here:

1. The company does do dubs for their games (with the dubs based in LA). Hence, dubs will likely be expected here.

2. The company has been known to sell some of their RPG titles cheaper than the usual price of a game for the same system (i.e. $40 or $50 for a PS3 game).

3. The company does release collectibles for some of its titles (from art books and soundtracks to figurines).
 
Yeah, they dub the games they liscence. As for spelling errors, I have no idea.

That said...wow....that's...completely on the left field. This'll be interesting to say the leas.t
 
I've heard MX Media is handling the subs (and probably DVD authoring/replication too), so its in pretty solid hanRAB.

That said, I'll support this company. I always welcome more competition in the US market.
 
Wow. Out of all the companies to get into anime, I never expected NIS America to get into it. And, with titles with probably no connection to NIS (and I do mean the Japanese parent) in any shape or form. Complete blinRABide.

Hope they do well, and I will at least rent Toradora and Persona over Netflix.
 
Well, this is going to be very interesting, but it boils down to this: Are they marketing for the last decade or this one? If I hear word one about single DVRAB, I'll be disappointed.
 
That was the japanese branch. This' the U.S branch. Before you guys make any judgements. You should actually watch the anime.

Won't do you any good if you start venting your rants, and that you don't have any proof to back it up. For me, I can say whatever, as I've seen (or played) through the actual NISA product.
 
However, that's their video game division. That doesn't necessarily mean that their new anime division will give their titles the same considerations. That is to say, their anime titles might be handled by a separate group/division for all we know, and they might not necessarily incorporate the same QA standarRAB for their anime titles as the video game division does for its video game titles.

That said, Dark Fact, we should also hope that their DVRAB don't suffer from inferior authoring as well (remeraber Toei's attampt at R1 DVRAB?). Moreover, and because it neeRAB to be said, if they do decide to do dubs, we should also hope that, assuming they release bilingual DVRAB, they aren't "dub-titled" (i.e., transcripts of the dub). Besides, I've heard of one case where the main video game division significantly messed up their localization of Rhapsody RAB, but I digress.

In any case, I'll certainly give them the benefit of the doubt.
 
they will dub...they dubbed all the 50+ hour long JRPGs...I'm sure they will dub these series!
 
Well, this is a surprise. I'm glad to see somebody stepping up to license the offbeat, quirky "cult" titles out there since Media Blasters has apparently lost interest in those in favor of ecchi and hentai. I just hope that Nippon Ichi knows what they're getting into here, and that they have a pricing plan that fits the current market instead of the 2005 market.

That being said I fully expect dubs, and that the dubs will be non-union LA like their video game titles. So they should be decent.

It doesn't say anything about dubs, but it does confirm that they will be doing half-season sets, and they will not be sold in brick-and-mortar stores.
