Toon Zone Talkback - Nippon Ichi America Announces New July Titles Including "Toradora"

Wow, Nippon Ichi, you wasted FUNi's chances to get Toradora, and it shows, yep, the lack of a dub is gonna help you, as well as that price, and it's only half the series.

Oh yeah, it was well wroth it.
 
Believe it or not, if memory serves NIS employees recently told ANNCast that there wasn't really much competition for the title.

The artbook thing is...kinda nice. I'd probably try before I buy, though. Not sure if it's my kind of thing yet.
 
Eh? Even if you cut out Bandai (which you probably shouldn't--they got Kannagi) there's FUNimation, Section23, and Viz (who invalidated the "they only care about Shonen Jump titles" critique when they grabbed such titles as Monster, Nana, Honey and Clover, and Vampire Knight).
 
Eh, the smaller companies can put in in biRAB, but Toradora is niche so it's not like it's going to get bid up particularly hard either. It's no US studio's frontline title, especially between the big two. I'm surprised Nippon is doing an LE as such, but they must figure the niche will atleast spend up on bonus gooRAB.
 
No...they didn't.....NISA is a Good company (I've loved all their games), and they did say if the subs sell welly they would conisder Dubs in the future.

I plane to Pre-order Toradora when I can, and Pandora Hearts whenever they put it up for Pre-order.
 
For their sake you hope so. I'm still surprised Funi or rab didn't grab this. 2 or 3 years ago I would have said Funi in a heartbeat. Heck, if they can sell Shuffle Toradora would be no problem.
