Doesn't say much about the plot of the movie but at least it'll be a nice change from the excessive ammount of 'pop-culture spouting talking animal' movies we've had recently.
The press release only says it "reinvents the classic ‘50s monster movie into an irreverent modern day action comedy." It really doesn't sound all that promising, though it may excel at a technical level.
It's a film that Dreamworks is hoping will cash in big on the whole Digital 3D scene; Though if I remember correctly there's been some speculation as to James Cameron's 'Avatar' and this film competing in 3D - since by 2009 when the films come out there will be plenty of digital screens; but not nearly enough to house both films successfully.
