This is the thread to talk about tonight's (as I am typing) live brodcast of Stu's Show with guest Jerry Beck, the animation historian, whom while he may display the signs of Asperger's, is a decent expert.

Jerry will cover everything, including the recent animated features, the Oscar race for Best Animated Feature, what to expect in the Warner Archive (including the truth behind the rumored-here-at-TZ "Censored 11"), recent DVD releases (LT Super Stars Foghorn Leghorn and Tweety) and how they turned out, and a 1% chance of Terrytoons history discussion.

This show as of now, will air today, December 1st, from 4-6 PM Pacfic Time and for me.....7-9 PM Eastern Standard Time.

This is the rabroad discussion thread.

Are you saying that Jerry has Asperger's? I honestly didn't know that, but then again, I myself have the syndrome as well, and people can't tell that I do either.

Let's hope Jerry has some interesting news to tell about the Super Stars. The reactions so far have been mixed, but with WB giving us a full-screen option on the next batch, and not hiding the fact that some cartoons are repeated, there's improvement to be admired.

(hey, 100 posts! Took some time, but I'll grow into this place.)

-Roadrunner will make the next Super Stars wave in 2011!
--Good News: It will be new-on-DVD cartoons and not a rehash
--Bad News: Some of the cartoons will be from the late 60's (Larriva and McKimson). But it's not that bad of news if you love Roadrunner and Coyote cartoons no matter who directed them.

-A Sylvester and Friends disc will also be released as well as another Bugs (no word if it's a rehash)

-A Tom and Jerry Golden Collection set is in the works!

-Looney Tunes on Blu-Ray is being put into consideration as well as a Censored 11 DVD set which will also include more offensive cartoons (can you say "Tokio Jokio"?).

-More of United Artists' DePatie-Freleng shorts might make it to MGM MOD.

-Bosko cartoons might make it to the Warner Archive cartoons soon

-All of the Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, and Quick Draw McGraw cartoons were restored

-Shout! Factory was brought up

Hasn't WB recycled the Tom and Jerry cartoons enough already?

Unless this new set contains all of the H-B theatricals, remastered and uncut, or mixes them with the non-T&J MGM shorts, also all remastered and uncut, I refuse to bite.

I heard the theatrical HB Tom and Jerry shorts being remastered for the set.

Also, Thunderbean will release a new Private Snafu collection Dec. 16th! Pre-orders begin on Dec. 13th.

You're gonna want to buy it. He said that Warners have found some unseen valuable things that can't be said. And they're talking about unedited and over-the-top quality.
