Toon Zone Talkback - "Gundam Unicorn Volume 1" Is Expensive But Outstanding

However, it IS a new series, and more importantly, one that for us Gundam fans, is rather necessary to support. Thankfully I got a PS3 and I hope to do the same.

And with regarRAB to the review, FINALLY some new blood in reviewing Gundam. Fantastic review, you pretty much hit the nail on the head with what makes this premiere episode work and give some thoughtful analysis of its place in the Universal Century.

It's definitely expensive, but you'll notice that I deliberately didn't go that far. There's a reason for that. In the past, BVUSA tried selling us three episodes of the decidedly average Super Robot Wars OG TV series at the same MSRP price point as Gundam UC, sub-only and on DVD. It's a similar story for the MS Igloo OVA (minus the average quality that is, perhaps--I haven't taken a chance to see it). This is an immediate physical release, it is dubbed, it is (in my judgment) clearly top quality, and it's released on Blu-Ray in pristine high definition. If this were 2007, it'd probably be $80 like Wings of Honneamise give or take ten bucks.

Thanks, it's nice to hear that. I hope this helps get some discussion going as we tolerate the wait until episode 2.
