This is probably my favorite sagas from Dragon Ball and it ranks up there with the epicness of Z.

Unfortunately, one of the discs in my set had a bad manufacturing defect and I'm currently waiting for the replacement copy.

This arc's music is also some of a the greatest. Piccolo's theme and all the variations are all grand. It's been quite a while since I've seen this arc in animation, though, so once my library's copy comes in I'll be taking a gander. I doubt the animation will be up to scale with Toriyama's art, though...

Yeah that's kind of hard to do when you're not Toriyama, you have a two week deadline, and five hundred other pictures to draw before said deadline. You have some wack expectations.
