This is the talkback thread for Animated Short Oscar Shortlist Revealed.
Having only seen 2 of the shortlist nominees (Cat Piano and Partly Cloudly), I really have to root for Cat Piano to win the entire thing (if it's picked as a final nominee). It was an amazing short. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uj4RBmU-PIo
The really annoying thing about these is there's no place to see all of them in full online (the only film available legally online is Cat Piano, and in less-legal ways, only one of the other films is available online). A lot of people may never see these shorts due to licensing issues and whatnot and they're missing out on some real gems. Last year's winner, Peter and the Wolf, was a really amazing short and happened to be played on PBS, so that was the only way I even got to see it. There's no reason these shouldn't be online, especially since the only way to see most of them is at a snooty film festival, which eliminates most of us due to location.
