This is the talkback thread for "Angel Wars: The Messengers" Is Far From Heaven, But Not Earthbound, Either.

This is now the third good review I've seen for these (though admittedly, the first two were from the same guy). I really should make the time to seek these out.

Funny... I just rented this the other day and recently bought the original trilogy boxset (which btw was highway robbery but I like to support the industry, especially when the product could actually make an impact given a chance).

This release far surpasses everything before it though the angel designs still are kinda bleh. The background animation is very nice and the demons have good designs as well.

I was expecting more of a single long form story but I guess the mult-story format works well enough for this video series.

The action is well choreographed and thrilling (think Storm Hawks but without the cop outs on collisions) and the stories don't leave you feeling like you've just been lectured but they still teach you valuable lessons.

This is the kind of cartoon I'd love to make some day, shoot I'd love to work for these guys on future Angel Wars animations.

And I highly recommend any action fan give them a shot if you have the opportunity and for any Christian animation fan I'll say this series is exactly what the industry needed and I hope it can do great things while entertaining today's youth.

Read the review a bit late and wanted to drop some brief comments. I'm not sure that I'll go out of my way to watch something like this soon, but I am glad to see that cartoons of this type are apparently seeing a greater degree of quality. I remember some Christian-oriented cartoons from back in the day and some definitely came on too strong or weren't that well produced. Compare that to this, which has an obvious spiritual angle but apparently says something while not coming off as "preachy" about it. It would be well if this sort of balance became even more common.
