This is the talkback thread for ADV Films/Sentai Filmworks Announce New October Titles Including "He Is My Master".

Whoa. I didn't even realize ADV had He is My Master. (or if I did, I must've forgot)

Eh, maid anime is niche, and He Is My Master wasn't massive in manga for Seven Seas. Clannad, massive Kyoto and Key hype aside, probably wouldn't fair much better. This super otaku stuff isn't what moves in in the US, especially if you lack the marketing acumen of FUNimation (and even then, breakneck speed at which certain FUNI titles released in singles made to boxset suggests even they couldn't turn every niche into gold, likely explaining the shift to boxset only.)

Didn't know it wasn't that popular, since I saw a decent amonut of He is My Master keychains/plushies in Otakon's Dealer's Room.

So, since ADV's basically done for, does this mean the live-action Eva is officially dead, or has that moved over to FUNi now?

FUNI has enough obstacles just getting the Rebuild films in theaters. I'm sure they're smart enough to not pick up the troubles the Live-films would bring.

Well Matt Greenfield said at Anime Central that they more it goes along the less he can say, and he can't say anything right now.

Live-action Eva is deader than a door nail right now. Who knows, maybe they'll pick it up again one day, but it's gone for now.

Wow, ADV's actually releasing something. Freaky.

It's sad that He Is My Master is another victim of not having a dub. Yeah, I actually liked the shwo.

How are those Geneon rescues considered Geneon rescues, though? Shouldn't Popotan be considered as a re-release?

Well, Popotan was previously licensed by Geneon, so in my eyes, it's a rescue. Though it IS a re-release as well, so technically it could fit into both categories.

Anyway, getting back to He Is My Master, it's odd: I don't think I've ever watched a maid anime. I've watched anime WITH maiRAB, but not a maid-centric show. Weird.
