I fractured a my big toe over a month ago. It was only a hairline fracture and they put my leg in a cast from the toe to below my knee. By now I've gotten the cast taken off. I want to start running and getting fit again but the muscles in my lower leg have pretty much visibly shrunk since my ankle was suspended for such a long time and saw little motion.
My leg feels pretty light and weak compared to my other and walking around on it feels unnatural. I'm not experiencing any pain or stress but it's thin and just feels a bit feeble.
Is it a good idea to be jogging or doing exercise right away, or should I wait for my leg to get used to walking around and build up some mass to better support my weight. Is the latter necessary? Is there some kind of exercise or stretch I can do to build up strength besides moving my ankle around and walking? Or am I getting worried about nothing
I'd like to get back into shape, my body feels like crap. Also it's great to be free after a month of inhibition and restriction.
