Too tall for a 1098

I'm 6'4" and about 216-230 depending if I'm on salads and it's summer . I found the 1098S amazingly comfortable for a no BS sport bike. I would strongly recommend you test ride one and realize even a test ride will not give you an idea of how you will feel after riding a half day or all day in the saddle (or lack thereof). Odds are, if you are totally miserable on the bike after a short test ride, longer rides are surely not going to be more comfortable. I know you said the local dealer won't demo a bike but this is B.S. It is good to support your local dealer, BUT! There certainly are many dealers who would be more than willing to have you test ride a bike and should you decide you want one, can more than likely assist in the sale.

I would strongly recommend if yoo do fall in love and buy the bike, you ride it for at least 600 miles or 1000 miles before altering the ergo's (bar height, rearsets etc.). You may find that you adjust to the bike and riding posture and as you learn to lean in the correct position, your grip lightens, your tank hugging increases etc etc. The stock ergos are not to bad for a taller rider, or at least they weren't for me.

Good luck!

Yes the stock rearsets will work for a Sz.14 boot (I'm 14.5) Sato makes two versions of rearsets as well as other companies and boot sizing won't be an issue..

I can in the morning. I just have to a pic with them installed. She is in the shop right now for warrinty. They look identical to the stockers. Looking at them I don't think you could notice a difference. They just say track star helibars next to the tripple clamp. But ill see if I have a couple before and after pics from a side view of the bike when I get off work.
