too early in pre-season to just do 1 weights session?

When our team didnt make the finals, I basically started pre-season then. I know footys still yonks away, but Im at a good build, weight etc that I want. I want to now focus on my fitness and speed instead. So would it be better to keep doing an extra weights session or replace it with runs and sprints?
 
replace with runs and sprints and when the season gets closer start extra weight sessions.
